Taikoo Hui 广州太古汇

The Taikoo Hui project is a 4.5 million square feet mixed use commercial project in the Tian He neighborhood of Guangzhou, China. The project is composed of two office towers, a hotel tower, a podium shopping arcade and a cultural centre.

The BIM project of Taikoo Hui covers the integration and management of the modeling works of forty GT trained modelers. All forty modelers work on the single master model concurrently. The BIM model has become the primary repository for MEP design coordination. Design errors and conflicts that were uncovered in the model provided meaningful feedback to design consultants, which was used to eliminate design inefficiencies. Q.S.’s measurement methodology of building quantity was integrated in an early phase, and the quantity of R.C. structure and M&E services were extracted and referred by Q.S. during the tight schedule for the preparation of tender documents.

Construction of the superstructure has begun. Currently, GT Asia is managing the BIM modeling process during the updating of the basement levels of Podium shopping arcade. The goal is to verify construction drawings and to check for design errors ahead of construction, to ensure a quality building cycle.
