One Island East- 港岛东中心

Swire Properties Ltd., the owner of One Island East, a seventy story commercial office tower in Hong Kong, drove the use of building information modeling and building life cycle management on this project to reduce cost and construction time, increase efficiency, and reduce waste.

One Island East represents substantial implementations of virtual 3D building life cycle management. This owner-driven process comprehensively combined traditional design and construction information into one 3D building information model. As BIM consultants to Swire Properties Ltd., the GT Asia team enabled and facilitated a high degree of information integration and exchange between members of the design and construction teams and the client.

The owner achieved a higher quality design while saving money and improving construction time by using collaborative, collocated work methods, and integrated 3D modeling tools to optimize construction sequencing.
